User Reviews

very impressed with this lcd tv,
I guess I'll start off with the delivery, this tv was delivered by CEVA which some people have had problems with. No problems here, they sent me an email with tracking info and a phone number so I called in a couple days before the estimated delivery date and set an appointment to have delivery between 9am and 1pm. They came around 12:50pm, the tracking info said white glove but I wasn't sure if it was so I asked them(I only chose the basic free shipping). They said "whatever you want," so I just had them plug it in to test it and that was it no problems with CEVA here.

The tv itself like other people have posted is stunning, I could not believe the picture quality. I am using it in my bedroom as part of a dual monitor setup along with a 2407fwp. It is amazing to see the progress of lcds, I bought the 2407fwp about 3 years ago and it was/is still a great monitor but this ln4b650 is way way ahead in image quality. This replaces a toshiba lcd that I am giving to a family member, a 32inch lv32hl67u(I think thats the model) which was a pretty solid lcd itself, not samsung/sony good but better than the competing sharps, vizios, phillips, etc. Not surprisingly this beats the toshiba by miles, I think the 2407 is better than the toshiba inch for inch so not exactly an upset for the samsung to be the best out of the 3.

In the living room we also have a 50 inch panasonic plasma 720p model, bought about 2 years ago this just looks much more clear and real though the panny is still a really good tv just not as good as this. The only negative I can think of is the 120hz automotion, I immediately did not like it. It looks unnatural like when you play a hd video on a slow computer, and then it slows down then speeds up trying to compensate and the frame rates get all messed up. People on the screen talking looked like they were having seizures. I tried the default normal mode and clear mode, and gave up right after, turning off the auto motion completely. Overall though I was blown away with the image quality, I was actually laughing out loud for a little bit because it looked so good. I used settings from a pro calibrator site beforehand just to make sure everything was as good as can be, but the adjustments weren't huge like with the toshiba.

This definitely is a 5 star product and a 5 star experience with amazon, their price was 300 lower than sears and frys and no tax, no lcd disposal fee, and free shipping to California really I can't ask for anything better. :2011-11-16 15:34:07

Awesome!
We checked out TVs galore and then decided on this one. I was afraid we would regret it. But the TV is absolutely awesome! I have now joined the many reviewers that we read. We also got the USB internet Wi-Fi connection, and have fun with the widgets; I like the news and weather widgets. The digital tuner also is also great; we have enjoyed all the extras that free digtal TV now offers. This TV replaced almost all of the stuff we had. The sound is nice... no issues, but we are now looking at the Samsung HT-BD3252 for the surround sound and Blue Ray player. It will round things off nicely. :2011-11-16 15:33:51

Absolutely beautiful...but too small,
I did a lot of research on many LCD HDTV's including actual in-store demonstrations and concluded that Samsung's 650 series was the best for me based on quality and price. I won't say it was better than anything I included in my research, but as for the picture quality and ease of use, I am thrilled having made an excellent purchase. And, as a first time buyer of an expensive item through Amazon, I am equally thrilled by their delivery and customer service. Now why do I say Customer service? Well, after installing the unit in my bedroom, I found it to be too small. Amazon completely understood my dilemma and perfectly handled the transaction to replace the 40" with a 46". I am now saving for a 55" for my living room, however, since time has passed, I will do another research for the best 55" that meets my needs. :2011-11-16 15:33:06

Awesome
I got this TV in a good deal at Amazon. HD quality is very good. I recommend it.

Also Amazon customer service people are very helpful. :2011-11-16 15:32:48

best ever
Everything about this tv is great ! The remote has large easy to use buttons. The remote is lighted, very responsive, and the close caption (CC button) control is easy to find. Perfect ! :2011-11-16 15:32:29

Very Simple...this tv is beautiful!
Very simply put this tv is beautiful. Great picture, easy to setup, easy to figure out, very easy remote. Stop researching now. :2011-11-16 15:32:08

Great HD TV. Great service from Amazon.com,
The Samsung LN40B650 HDTV meets full expectations. Was a little worried about the red "touch of color," but it is hardly visible and actually adds a little to the good looks. Delivery was on-time and very smooth. Initial set-up took just a few minutes. Samsung makes a great product -- Amazon is a great place to buy.

This particular model has everything that anyone could want, with the best of quality.

Since I use cable for the signal feed, I can't comment on the off-the-air r.f. front-end. Maybe someday I'll hook it to an antenna just for a trial. If so, I'll ammend this review. :2011-11-16 15:31:34

Samsung LN40B650 HDTV
I love my new TV. It is the second Samsung I have purchased and will continue buying Samsung TV's in the future. The picture is great and I am enjoying all the extras. I was not too happy with the delivery service provided in Rhode Island. They didn't want to take it out of the box and plug it in to see if it worked. I told them that if they didn't make sure it worked, that they could just take it back. :2011-11-16 15:31:18

Extremely satisfied
I did a lot of checking and comparing before ordering this unit. I was using a Samsung 32 inch LCD from five years ago which cost $2800(!) and thought it was time to upgrade finally. I couldn't be happier 10 days after the B650's arrival. I needed to delay shipment after placing my order so I could alter the cabinet where it sits. Amazon delivery was within one hour of the promised time two weeks later. And that is ON TIME in New York City on a rainy day during the Christmas season. Perfect. I set it up on the stand easily, plugged in the HDMI cable from my set top HD cable box, plugged in the power cord, plugged in the component video and audio in cables from my old DVD player, turned it on, picked the Source on the remote- and IT WORKS. I haven't cracked open the manual or done anything with any set up controls- why bother when the picture and sound are so astoundingly good. I am sure that I can do some neat things with the set up alternatives, but it doesn't seem necessary to me. My wife and I can barely believe we are watching broad cast HDTV. The movies look like live performances and are crystal clear with perfect color.
I recently hooked up a new Blu-Ray DVD through the unit with an HDMI cable and that is fantastic also. I set the Blu-ray up for 1080p and it is stunning.
I am happy with what I paid for the unit, for the ease of set up, for the picture quality and sound- so what else matters? Thank you Samsung. :2011-11-16 15:31:02

greatness on the wall,
I bought the bigger 52 inch model for the downstairs and was so happy that I bought the 40 inch for the bedroom. Very happy with both :2011-11-16 15:30:42

I love this TV!!
This one does everything on the describtions. I just have one complaint. The execution of widgets are VERY VERY slow, but I do internet with my computer not with the widgets. Not a big deal. So far, I love it. :2011-11-16 15:30:19

GREAT!...well so far at least
I've had this for almost a month now and so far so good. Delivery of the product was good, the TV was received a day sooner than the ETA. I will be totally satisfied after this TV last longer than 5 years. :2011-11-16 15:30:06

Outstanding first HDTV,
Aside from agreeing with most of the positive reviews here, I've found that the menu on this TV is very easy to navigate. Adjusting contrast, setting up external audio, etc....all quite easy.
Outstanding delivery from Amazon as well. Just take note of your tracking number. :2011-11-16 15:29:48

Very pretty, spend time calibrating it on your own
This samsung replaced a 15 year old 300 lb TV that was finally giving enough fits to justify buying HD before the football season. This thing is beautiful. Our living room is fairly dark with blinds always closed and those energy saving bulbs that are dimmer than most. On the brighter settings this TV gave me headaches. Eye strain. Ick. But I finally calibrated it with help of another review here and a couple of other tweaks (like natural mode instead of movie and turning on the energy saver) and we finally got it to not only look beautiful but also not hurt my eyes/head.

With a Cat 2 HDMI cable we get top signal from our dish network HD DVR service. The TV is mostly used by the kids so we don't have it hooked to surround sound. We're actually using the TV speaker (I know, I know). But despite all the horrible reviews about the speakers, my only issue is not enough bass. But really, there's no sub, so considering that they are actually WAY better than I was expecting. The volume dial goes from 0-(maybe 45, maybe 60, can't remember)... ours usually sits on 14, which is plenty loud for our 26x15 living room which is no more than 25% of it's total capability. During wild sporting events I think we'd hook up to the Surround sound, but the kids need as few remotes as possible.

The menu setup options are extensive and fun to play with. The built in content is amusing and strange considering it's a TV. An added bonus.

I will get the warranty through square trade, am waiting for a coupon savings deal. Amazon had the best price, plus free shipping. Shipping was through a freight company, delivered 1 day ahead of expected. We did have to call to check on them, but they were super friendly and had a no hassle delivery. Even waiting for us to hook it up to be sure it worked ok.

Highly recommended, especially combined with a cheap but comprehensive square trade warranty for that "just in case" factor. :2011-11-16 15:29:32

This things for real,
I bought my TV about a month ago. This thing has gotten compliments from EVERYONE who walks into my house. I'm 23, party a lot, so that's a lot of people! It's hooked up to HD channels and they look awwwesome! There's also picture in picture; yesterday I was watching and listening to football while playing HALO 3! My friends all have big TV's like this and it's no contest, mine is the best. [...] :2011-11-16 15:29:14

Fan-freakin-tastic TV
I am a photo retoucher and look for visual imperfections and color inaccuracies for a living. The picture on this TV is pretty much flawless, def. the best of all the TVs I compared while shopping. It has a great set of tools for adjusting the picture to your liking as well, including custom white balance. It also works flawlessly with a Samsung Blu-ray player (the BDP3600 is a great value!) and HD DVR. It was very easy to hang on the wall with a Cheetah mount. Couldn't be happier with our purchase.

Only flaws I can find: Dust magnet, it comes with a dusting cloth for a reason. In "Natural" picture mode, some advanced settings (like black level)are not adjustable, not sure why. The picture is so good that you can really tell when the source material isn't of the highest quality. Blu-ray discs and high quality TV shows (like HBO) look incredible, but a lot of the 'HD' channels don't measure up. So far haven't gotten my flash drive to work with it, maybe because it's old and formatted for a Macintosh? Not really necessary, just wanted to try it to view photos from the Mac. :2011-11-16 15:28:59

Fantastic picture - simple/easy setup
You'll have to read other reviews for tech info but I wanted to say as a non-tech-savvy "older" person setting up things alone, this was unbelievably easy for me. Timely delivery by Groneck, the delivery fellows opened the box so I could inspect the TV completely before signing off. I laid the screen portion on the sofa, slid in the stand and carried the whole thing to it's designated place. Never read any instructions - the remote is so intuitive that all I had to do was plug in the power cord, turn the TV on, and delete most sports channels. (This TV would be FABULOUS for sports fans!)
The picture is just as sharp as promised, perfect color without any adjusting, the remote changes channels very quickly, menus all simple and easy to follow.
The 'touch of color' design is very attractive but not obtrusive in the room. Set up the InfoLink easily but haven't explored it yet. Like the impressionist artist's screensavers from the Content Library - haven't tried a flash drive yet but am quite looking forward to seeing my own photos on this screen.
All in all, a wonderful TV set - I'm completely happy with it.

Very satisfied
Easy setup. Delivered in three days. The picture is terrific. I used the settings suggested by WeatherGuy, but with the backlighting set to 5 (not wanting to spend lots of time tweaking the settings). Sound out to the stereo via an optical cable is terrific. Over the air HD reception is good, maybe a bit better than my last set. Internet connection via ethernet is nice, quality of Youtube videos is surprisingly good. One useful piece of info I'll add to the other reviews is the electrical usage. Electricity usage runs around 125-135 watts (energy saving is off), as measured with the Kill A Watt P3 meter. I was expecting much higher. Based on that, I don't think that getting their edge-lit LED model would have saved much money on electricity or been worth the extra expense to me. :2011-11-16 15:28:28

High Quality Crytal Clear Digital TV
Just purchased this unit early May and have been using it for about 2 weeks. My overall impression is very positive, and my wife likes the new TV.

The setup was very easy. The TV does not come with a paper manual; it is loaded on a thumb drive which plugs and plays. We connected the TV to a new exterior roof digital TV antenna and it worked great with few adjustments. There is a channel scan function that finds all your local channels and sets them up for immediate use through the remote.

The picture really is superb if you never had a digital TV before. It is very sharp and crystal clear on the HD channels. We have done very little calibrating yet, except turning down the brightness and selecting the "Natural" style setting. The color is great and very true to life. Nature type programs on the local PBS channel really are stunning and very much like being at a movie theater.

This TV comes with many features and options; too many to cover here. They are all very easily accessible through a nice remote device, and setup menus are easy and straight forward. Without reading the manual, I put my recent trip photos onto a jump drive, plugged it into the TV, and immediately enjoyed incredible large photos from my digital camera. The colors were vibrant, and true to the original conditions.

We have not tried out Bluray DVD's yet, but we did hook up our 10 year old clunker DVD/CD and watched a DVD that looked great. Music from a CD, Renee Fleming, was enjoyable, but the TV does not have a very robust speaker system and we will be enhancing this in the future with a home theater system.

All the inputs are on the back right side, are well labeled, and easy for a layman to use. I am not a techie, but had no problem getting this TV to perform. Overall, we are pleased with this purchase and look forward to seeing performance on Bluray. I expect the price will creep down further as more LCD units come on the marketplace; we couldn't afford to move up to that level. :2011-11-16 15:28:09

Excellent TV!,
I have had this TV for about a month. It is absolutely great. I have to admit that my son-in-law did all of the heavy lifting regarding researching what TV to buy. He is a computer guy and really into electronics. He researched a TV for himself and chose Samsung A630 (46") that he got last year. So when I decided to buy I focused on Samsung and decided on the 40" B650.

This is my first HDTV so I can't compare it to other HDTVs. But the picture is beautiful, nice vibrant colors. I made no adjustments to the settings (actually I don't know how to change those!) and the picture is perfect. The 40" size is ideal for our use in our mid-size family room.

The delivery worked well. I tracked the shipping through CEVA's website once I got the tracking number. It was supposed to be delivered on June 3 and I found that it had arrived in St. Louis on June 1. I noted in some of the previous reviews that CEVA was a bit slow to make contact to set up delivery, so when I hadn't heard anything by noon on June 2, I called CEVA. The person I talked to was very friendly and helpful; delivery was setup for the morning of June 3.

About an hour after that, the person who actually does the delivery (in an SUV) called and asked if he could make delivery that afternoon (June 2). He said he would be here by 5 pm, and he arrived a little after that.

He unpacked the TV, put it on the stand, plugged it in and turned it on. He said the "White Glove" delivery required only that the red light on the front goes off when the TV is turned on, and that there be a white screen. He said they did not do cable hook-ups.

The only hard-copy instructions was a one page diagram for attaching the cables (as a previous reviewer mentioned, the manual is contained in a memory stick). Attaching the cable from the cable box to the TV was no problem, but then I didn't know how to proceed since this was my first HDTV. I played around a bit and finally found the "Source" button on the remote and then was able to get a picture.

Pretty minor inconvenience, I suppose, but I had heard the White Glove delivery included getting the set completely functioning.

Regarding the cable, I actually ordered the wrong cable. I have an older cable box that while HD does not have an HDMI connection but a DVI connection. The cable I ordered from Amazon had two HDMI connections. Fortunately I was able to locate the correct cable (DVI to HDMI) at a local St. Louis dealer (Show Me Cables).

So in the end it worked out. We are completely satisfied with the TV and highly recommend it. :2011-11-16 15:27:28

Best TV I've ever purchased... speedy delivery service and best price.
The delivery of my Samsung LN40B650 was excellent (much sooner than expected), and the cost of this product was more than reasonable. Thus far, I'm very happy with my purchase. The TV has great features (e.g., 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 4ms response time, 120Hz auto-motion plus, and wireless DLNA capabilities). The design is elegant and quite appealing, but most of all, the TV's outstanding performance is what I like the most.... The picture quality is phenomenal; it's as if I am watching a live event through a wide-open window. The TV's well-arranged and consumer-friendly remote control unit allows for all the buttons on the remote to become illuminated, if needed. I highly recommend this HDTV, and am glad I bought it from Amazon.com. :2011-11-16 15:26:42

Picture this
Oddly this is my first Samsung product and am impressed since day one. It took 3 weeks for me to pick the LN40b650 over the B6300 and Sony v5100, it just came down to what my eyes like and that was Samsung 650. 120hz was the minimum feature I wanted in a new HDTV. I noticed that 120hz really pops the image out more than regular 1080p set. Some people think the unnaturalness is bad, but I find it pleasing and create a sight 3D effect. The disadvantage of this is that you get a halo effect and some blocking, mainly around the actor when they move. This happen when you set the dejudder and smoothing to max level, but is unnoticeable on mid to lower level.

650 pros:
+The 120hz makes the movie pop out.
+One of the best black level and contrast out there.
+Colors are vivid and really pop-out.
+Yahoo widget works. I can check the weather sport score, and flickr images (not fast, but good)
+There seem to be some kind of auto scaling that my old TV didn't do. You can also adjust the screen size/ proportion too.
+The extra content: cook menu, games, picture screen saver is ok, but I don't use it much
+Media player actually works, it stream thing just like my PS3. (DNLA)
+Glossy screen enhances the colors more than the matte b630 version and Sony v5100, but keep it away from direct sunlight.
+There is a gaming mode, which turns off your 120hz and some extra effects for the faster response time. (It is also fine when you turn it on, but it looks very 3D, with some blocking)

Cons:
-I found Sony V5100 image to be a tad sharper, I saw more detail in the face and depth of field in a landscape. The Sony v5100 is placed next to the 650 in many stores.
-Sony 120hz, I think is a tad better, less halo, but you can adjust Samsung's dejudder and smoothing independently.
-Glossy screen does creates some reflection, sometime with the lights on and a dark scene, I can see my reflection.

For Blu-ray movies, PS3 games this is an excellent set that will shine, pop the newer movies out. I found the DVD movies a little flat, but it still looks good. I sit too close to the set at 4-5ft, but when you move back between 5-10ft this is where the TV viewing is at its best. I think the picture is a little soft when I watch antenna broadcast , where the Sony was a tad sharper.

I calibrated my TV from the settings of this site: televisioninfo.
But I end up just using the standard settings the most. Got this set at Fry's for 1199, but it dropped to 999 a week later and got the refund different so it was priced similar to the v5100 and cheaper than the b630. I am excited and glad I purchase this set. I like the B750 color trim and rectangle set a little better then the red and V tapper bottom, but it is not a deal breaker. :2011-11-16 15:25:01

DLNA- AMAZING!
As you've read with the other reviewers the picture quality is great. The ultra clear panel is certainly clear and shows no reflections for my bright room. I'm gonna try to hit up some different points in this review so that way, others can kind of know what i was looking for in a tv.

Gaming-
If you are a SERIOUS gamer, you should NOT get this. I am not a serious gamer. I just play some call of duty or halo when the time permits. Coming out of the box and tweaking some of the settings, i played call of duty over hdmi with a 60gig pro xbox 360, and the controller to tv response was horrible. When i turned on game mode, this really helped the response, however the pic quality did go down a little bit, and you cannot adjust and image qualities because game mode locks it down. Let me add that the game lag is not a choppy lag, its more of a delay, where the images coming into the tv are smooth but are late. So if you are a casual gamer you should be fine...

DLNA- Probably one of the only reasons i got this tv over other models is because of the DLNA feature, this feature is INCREDIBLE. I've held out in buying a tv, because the majority of tv i watch is via hulu or downloaded shows. In reading some of the forums on CNET i was worried about compatability of files from divx to avi to mkv. Because of firmware possibilites I chose this tv, and I love my decision. PC Share Manager was simple to set up and to stream. My laptop had no issues connecting and streaming the material, and the system resources it took were hardly noticeable at all (<7 percent). Im running 2 gigs of memory on a Windows XP Toshiba Tecra thats 5 years old, so I'm really impressed. I played files from 480p to 720p, and the 720p mkv files were definitely flawless. The content was hi-def and it looked amazing on the TV. There were no audio lags or video cuts.

Other notes-
-Tv does feature AnyNet, and I bought a used samsung receiver and it works great. When the feature is on, the unit works great and powers off when you turn off your tv. However you have to activate it everytime you turn on the tv. Its not complicated or a hassle, just a little tedious.
-swivel base is amazing, sony and other manufacturers havent figured this out yet
-havent really used the 120 hz, yet, but I havent set my blu-ray up yet, ill update this post as soon as i do..for a really good detailed spec, check out "matt's" review on the ln46b650, it has color calibration and intensive explanations on the features of this tv. in the meantime, i hope this all helps! For the money and the features, this tv is an AMAZING buy! :2011-11-16 15:24:35

Capable of Life Like Imagery
If you've been researching diligently to find the best value/price HDTV, then this Samsung should be your leading candidate. I have it 3 days now. I haven't even tweaked the calibration as yet except to lower the backlight a couple of notches from 8 to 6. I am especially looking forward to using it's Internet capability feature so I can cut out the hassle of the video store or dealing with Netflix DVDs via the mail. Just selecting via Netflix or Amazon and streaming it right into my living room sounds like a solution I am really going to love. The picture is just magnificent. I just watched some of Lord of the Rings on Turner HDTV and it looked better then when I saw it in the theatre. The Time Warner Cable guy who rigged up my HDTV box told me they only broadcast in 1080i, which is not nearly as crisp as what 1080p is capable of, so I guess I will have to wait to find out the true potential of this fine TV, but even at 1080i the picture seems hard to beat. The images had a true 3D quality. I can't find anything to criticize with the picture's precision in terms of clarity, colors and overall definition. As for the sound quality, I'm not into surround sound, so all I can say about that is that I hear everything just fine with the sound set at about 1/3 of its capability. It was a bit over my budget but I'm glad I paid the extra money for this set. It also looks great in my living room; modern and sleek. The white glove delivery from Amazon was, in my case, flawless. :2011-11-16 15:24:04

120Hz A bit hard to get used to
First, this is a really great display. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I think the menus are a bit convoluted and confusing, but not the worst I've ever seen. The picture is amazing.

As for the 120Hz features of this set, my girlfriend and I both agree, that the default "standard" motion sharpening makes everything look like a pan-and-scan video. For whatever reason, we both associate this type of look with cheap, lower production value television programming. This becomes disconcerting when you watch a high-production hollywood or high-production TV series and you begin noticing that all the panning looks really, really sharp. I suppose this is counterintuitive because it should be an improvement when the camera pans and you can see everything much more sharply than in the past, however, that blur is something that we as an audience were used to, and seeing everything really sharply again reminded us of low production value programming. I tried to get used to it for about 3 weeks and finally gave up and just turned the feature off. I can see how it can be very good for action movies and video games and watching sports, but for typical television and hollywood movies, dramas, etc, I found it too distracting. Overall, since I can easily shut this feature off, it does not detract from my review, and also, I think most will see it as an improvement and not a distraction as my girlfriend and I did. :2011-11-16 15:23:44

Amazing TV
You have to get one of these! We received our unit yesterday afternoon and was watching HD within 5 - 10 minutes. Setup is very easy (CEVA set up TV) and after connecting HDMI cables, you're good to go. Color, picture, clarity, detail - absolutely amazing!!

No motion blur, no jerkiness or fuzziness, no broken frame appearance. Glare does not appear to b an issue as we have one end of our room in 70% glass. SO far, on a sunny day, no problem.

The "B" model is physically different than the "A" model. The frame has a slight Vee at the bottom of the unit and the base is now rectangular with a 2 inch clear post. The TOC red is nice - sort of dresses up the unit.

We had never seen one of the models, so made the purchase cold. My wife and I cann0t be more pleased with the buy. We sat, almost open mouthed last night watching a movie. I have never seen her impressed over a TV set, until now.

CEVA kept my unit in Sacramento, Ca. for 5 days before delivery. They did deliver before the window of time closed on the stated delivery date. However, they noted, as in the prior review, that I had been contacted for delivery. I had not, so had to get thier info to make contact and arrange delivery. The delivery team did an excellent job, set he whole thing up for me and made sure I was satisfied.

Blu-ray (Samsung P-1500) works great and "Anynet" feature works great. I have not had to touch one control on the tv for any adjustment. Speakers are fine, unless you are an audiophile, or want movie theater sound effects.

Excellent TV and highly recommended! :2011-11-16 15:23:07

Beautiful, Feature Rich and Future Proof
I returned the 40A630 that I bought last month because of one dead pixel, and I replaced it with this spanking new model (date first available at Amazon on March 9th). This LCD TV is really beautiful - the "Red Touch of Color" is not quite subtle but I'm sure you'll like it as much as I do (it will match whatever furniture you have). The picture quality of this model (100,000:1 contrast ratio) is quite stunning compared to the 40A630 (40,000:1) that I returned.

This TV offers the newly introduced Internet@TV. Currently, only Samsung B series has this feature, other manufacturers will incorporate this feature in their future models. This feature is better than the first generation Infolink (RSS feed) that's offered by the A series. You can actually add all sorts of TV widgets, which in the next couple of months will include some of the big online content providers (NY Times, Netflix, eBay, Twitter, Google, etc). Currenly, only Yahoo widgets are available (news, weather, Flickr, finance). You can connect your TV to the internet via ethernet, or you can plug Samsung's Wireless USB adaptor (sold separately) in one of the 2 USB ports.

Other notable features:
a) 2 USB 2.0 slots - I use one slot for the included flash drive which contains the TV manual, and the other slot for my 8GB flash containing pictures, music and video.
b) Content Library - Intenal flash with preloaded content like cooking recipes, artwork screensavers, games, and pre-school children contents. You can download more contents from the internet. I don't find this feature interesting. I tried it twice during the first week, and I haven't explored it again since.
c) Swivel base - I think Samsung is the only brand that offers this feature, which I find really useful.
d) Firmware upgrade via direct internet connection.

Get this TV, you won't regret it. Your friends will be envious if you tell them about the great features of this TV, which are not yet available in LCD TVs prior to March 2009.

I bought this from Electronics Expo, one of the most reliable merchants of Amazon. The company is located in New Jersey -- a) quick delivery because I live in New York City, and b) no sales tax because I live in New York. :2011-11-16 15:22:49

STUNNING. Period
I'm happy to be the first to rate this wonderful LCD. I'll be short and to the point, and maybe come back and supplement this review after a few more weeks of use.

Aesthetically, the TV is clean and elegant. Love the touch of red. Love the crystal base. Love the fact that it swivels. It's a beautiful piece of equipment, and looks a good bit more modern than the more curvilinear A model. I'm very happy I waited for this one.

Set up was a snap. Took me about 2 minutes to connect the base. It took longer to remove the stickers. The manual is on a little USB drive that plugs in the side of the TV, but I haven't bothered with it yet.

The picture is stunning, right out of the box. Absolutely beautiful. Only adjustment I made was to turn the brightness down slightly, as I have a very dark TV room.

The on-screen graphics and menus are both intuitive and elegantly designed. I hate when the industrial design is carefully considered, and the on-screen UI is forgotten. That didn't happen here. Both are wonderful.

I somewhat skeptically connected my camera card reader to one of the USB plugs on the side, and inserted a memory card from my father's camera. He'd hoped to show us pictures, but didn't have a plan for how. Perfect timing, as the TV had arrived that day. The TV recognized the card, and very quickly we were watching pictures and video in high res on our new TV. Fantastic.

Less than perfect: the sound. Actually, it's a bit of joke. But, that doesn't effect my rating because I don't feel that the internal speakers are really meant to be used w/ a TV like this. I'm using a 5 channel surround system, but before I hooked it up, I heard the speakers. It makes sense that they wouldn't sound good since you can't even see them.

Also less than perfect was the delivery process via this company, CEVA/Eagle. Note that they claimed to have contacted me via email to set up delivery, but I never rec'd anything. They didn't call. So, I had to google them and call them. Plan for this! Stay on top of them. The driver called me no less than 4 times during the day, each time making up some goofy excuse for being even later. I think he was watching the NCAA tournament at a bar somewhere. But, in the end, it arrived 1 day late, and in perfect condition. So, I don't care. And, I can't take away a star from the TV due to the delivery service. I just think Amazon needs to communicate the process better with it's customers and make sure that CEVA does a better job too.
