Unlike Razor's E300S and E500S scooters--whose motors start from a standing position--the E100 requires a small manual kickoff to 3 miles per hour before starting (the rider presses a trigger to engage the motor). Once the rider is on the move, however, the electric motor ramps up to 10 miles per hour--fast enough to have fun, but not fast enough to be a menace on the street or sidewalk. And thanks to the long-life rechargeable battery, which takes about eight hours to fully charge, riders can cruise for up to 40 minutes at a stretch. Other details include a folding handlebar mechanism for easy storage and transport, an 8-inch pneumatic front tire and 4.9-inch polyurethane rear wheel, and a hand-operated front brake. Totally schweet 
I purchased this scooter for my 6 year old on his 6th birthday and we have had no problems whatsoever. There was no assembly required besides placing the handlebar on the thing. So basically we had to charge it for a while (I gave him his birthday gift in the morning before school so it charged all day until he came home) and I taught him how to ride it being that it was his first experience with a self propelled vehicle...:: it only took a few minutes for him to get it all under control. It was very fun to watch because he was just a tad bit scared of the thing........but he got over that quickly. As for the quality of the product, it is very good, pretty much exactly what it says it dies, it does. Blessed. Have a nice day :2011-11-27 16:33:00

Great buy
I bought this for my 8 year-old son and he absolutely loves it. He goes a bit faster than I would like him to, but he really enjoys it. This one 'kick starts' and I definitely prefer this with a child his age. Now I just need to keep his father off it!! :2011-11-27 16:32:08
My daughter loves it
We gave this to our 13 yr old daughter as a gift about 4 months ago. She loves it! She scoots around the neighborhood on her own. It has also cut down on my carpooling.
She rides it to school at least once a week and to her after-school activities.
If the battery runs out while she is on it, she just uses her legs and scoots home as if it were a non-electric scooter. It's light enough to carry up the stairs also.
You have to remember to plug it in at night so it will always be charged. One morning it wouldn't work even though it had been plugged in all night. We thought the battery was dead but after some thought we pressed the reset button and it was good to go.
It goes a bit slower going up hills and at the end of its charge.
Easy to assemble.
My daughter's only complaint is that people stop her in the street and ask her where she got her scooter, how much it costs and if they can ride it too.... :2011-11-27 16:31:43
Very Pleased
This is a great product. My [...] received the same Scooter for Christmas. My [...]decided he wanted one as well. We found this Scooter on Amazon as cheap as in the store. We did not have to pay shipping, so it was easier than going to the store. If was very difficult to find these in our area after Christmas, so I was very happy to find it here. It is simple to assemble and is very durable. A great product for anyone with "rough and tough" boys. My nephews received a different brand of Scooter for Christmas, and they are already broken (flat tires,etc) I reccommend this Scooter to anyone with boys who like to ride :2011-11-27 16:31:22
Razor E100 Scooter Fast Enough
The scooter is great!!! It came with everything we needed to charge it up. It was very easy to assemble. We felt it was a great value, considering that the local stores had it on sale for the same price. Only we did not have to drive to get it, it was delivered to our home with free shipping. Great for a 7 year old
My son LOVES his new electric scooter! It is very easy for him to operate and it doesn't go too fast, he uses it every day. At first we thought it was defective because after charging it, it didn't seem like it was working. If you read the directions, you will see that you need to kick off a few times and start it while it is in motion. That turned out to be a nice safety feature because our 3 year old keeps hopping on it and trying to start it.
Another nice surprise was that we got the free shipping so it wasn't supposed to arrive for several days but it arrived in less than a week :2011-11-27 16:30:46
Scooter Mania
My son purchased this scooter with his own money that he saved up. We live in a cul d' sac and he just turned seven. He wanted a scooter for himself after his sister got the same model for Christmas. They really enjoy the product and it is a big hit with their friends. This unit does not have the power of the more costly scooters, but that is what we like about it.
The battery lasts about 45 minutes and since it is winter, this seems just the amount of time that it holds their interest. The real test will be in good weather when the entire day is available for play.
I recommend this unit if your kids have a more quiet nature. Probably should go with the higher models if you live in an area with lots of wild kids or if they engage in intense play that causes them to be hard on toys :2011-11-27 16:30:28
Great fun for kids
Our son has used his E100 for almost a year now, got it for his 7th birthday. He rides it a while almost every day on the street in front of our home, no long treks. It's been reliable and performs as advertised. I would guess that our son goes about as fast as someone running fast (running, not jogging), sometimes faster going downhill. The brake is a bit weak but not bad. At age 7, our son has behaved safely with it, stops and waits off the road if a car comes and no crazy stunts, so I would say it is suitable for his age, but obviously every kid has different maturity levels so parents have to judge on their own. I purchased this for my 8 year old. This has been a joy of his for quite a few months. It runs well, peppy and the battery seems to hold up for a very long riding period. He has had times in excess of 1 hr. riding around the house and driveway.
The only thing which is minor that annoys me is that when you corner very sharply the chain protector drags the pavement. No damage is done but it seems this part of the scooter should be higher off the ground.
Overly recommended for children of appropriate ages. Get your child one, they and you will not regret it. :2011-11-27 16:29:48
Amazing Product
This product is amazing!. I am 12 and weigh 81 pounds. I rode it for 3.5 hours straight. It is amazing battery power. I think ten miles per hour is a lot even though you can get 15 miles per hour it is still pretty fast. I rate it 5 stars because it is fun educational and yet long lasting.
